LCC
golf tournament tomorrow
On
Friday, September 10, the Lethbridge Community College Foundation
hosts its 16th Annual Golf Tournament at the Lethbridge Country
Club.
For
the past 15 years, the College has provided Southern Alberta golfers
with one of the best prize tournaments. This 16th event promises
to be even better.
The
event, sponsored by the fund-raising arm of Lethbridge Community
College, sold out since August 17. LCC vice-president of Development
& Enterprise Bill Persley attributes the success to the great
opportunity for prizes.
This
year, over $50,000 in cash and prizes is up for grabs. Included
in this are the $6,000 Val Matteotti Cash Giveaway, the $2,000 MacLean/Thrall
Bull Shot prize, the $500 Cox Insurance Shootout, the
Canbra Foods Putting Contest, trips from Canadian Regional Airlines
and Carlson Wagonlit Travel. Merrill Lynch Canada Inc., Ardent Manufacturing
Corporation and Southland Credit Union are sponsoring three $10,000
Hole-In-One prizes from as well as team and hole prizes. Golfers
receive lunch courtesy of Pizza Hut and dinner at the Country Club.
This
is a great day for the public to golf, win some great prizes, and
show their support for Canadas first public community college,
says Persley. This tournament usually raises about $16,000
for the LCC Foundation, thanks in large part to the generosity of
the 45 hole sponsors and other community businesses who donate prizes.
This
year, the funds raised through the tournament are going to the TEC
2000 capital campaign.
