In order to
graduate with an LCC credential, students are required to meet residency
criteria. Residency ensures a minimum standard, quality and program
content for credentials issued by LCC. A minimum 25% of the total
credits required for a Lethbridge Community College (LCC) credential
must be completed through enrolment in LCC credit courses.
Credit programs
are described by the number of credits required by or included in
parchments or credentials awarded for specific programs. Thus a
program of 88 credits would have an LCC residency requirement of
25% or 22 credits.
To qualify for
graduation from a program, students must be admitted to the program
and meet the graduation requirements as stipulated (See Graduation).
Minimum GPA
requirements are set institutionally. Additional graduation requirements
may be stipulated under graduation requirements for individual programs.
See the current calendar for these stipulations.
Credits toward
a specific parchment can be earned while students are enroled in
another program. (Examples: General Studies or Occasional Students)
The following
types of earned credit are not included in the minimum residency
requirements:
- Prior Learning
Credits
- Advanced
Standing Credits
- Student Government
Credits
- Athletics
Participation Credits
- Credit earned
through Advance Credit awarded for work completed at another institution.
See the policy.
