Frequently Asked Questions

Here are the answers to the questions we hear most often. Remember, if your question is not answered here, just email us, or give us a call.

I do not have a high school diploma. Can I still come to Lethbridge Community College?
Certainly! Each of our programs, however, do require certain high school courses for admittance. Check in the Calendar under the program that you are interested in, and see if you have the prerequisite courses.
When is your application deadline?
We don't have application deadlines. We accept applications on a year-round basis. If you are qualified for a program but the next intake (for example, a September start) is full, we will offer you admission to the intake immediately following the one that is full. Your best chance at getting into a program when YOU want to, is to apply early!
I know I want to go back to school, but I don't know what I want to take. Can you help me?
You bet. Just call Student and Academic Support Services, and ask to speak to an advisor. We can either set up an appointment to speak with you in person, or we can refer you to others who may be able to help.
I'll need a student loan. How far in advance of my starting school should I be applying, and how do I know how much to apply for?
Processing times for loans vary depending on the type of loan you're applying for and the time of year that you're applying. Tuition and book costs will also vary, depending on the program you'll be attending. Your best bet is to contact Student Awards for answers to these questions, or consult the "Tuition Fee" section of the LCC calendar.
