What Advisors Do

Need help and don't know where to go? You've come to the right place. LCC's Advisors can help you with any or all of the following areas:

Program Planning
If you have a particular career goal in mind, but you aren't sure how to get the training you need, we can help.
Career Advising
Having some trouble figuring out what to do with the rest of your life? We can either assist you to narrow down your career interests, or we can make referrals to appropriate career planning resources. Just ask!
Funding Information
Figuring out how to get the funds needed to go to school can be complex and confusing. Advisors can help guide you through the process, and can provide helpful information related to tuition costs, living expenses, and so forth.
Class Changes
Depending on the program you're enrolled in, your advisor may be able to assist you with course adds and drops. Not only can they sign your "Change of Registration" forms, but they can let you know about the program and funding implications involved when you change your registration.
It is often the case that students experience situations in their personal lives that can make it difficult to focus on academic studies. The range of problems that can occur is broad, but might include such things as depression, family difficulties, relationship problems, stress, or learning disabilities. If these or other problems are interfering with your ability to successfully complete your coursework, speak to an advisor. We can refer you to people who are willing and able to help.

This are just some of the duties of a Student Advisor. Please feel free to approach us with any issues you may be experiencing, and if we can't help you, we can refer you to someone who can.
